The perfect modern wedding doesn’t begin at the altar—it begins on the decision-making and planning of the couple themselves. These days, women tend to exert more effort in planning and organizing their wedding. No modern woman wants to fall behind in trend and style. It has become the norm of every modern bride to know all the helpful tips there are, just to make herself the “star of the show” and her wedding a truly memorable event. You only want to make it running smoothly and perfectly organized.
The Ring
Of course, no wedding is complete without wedding bands—every couple’s symbolic pledge of love and loyalty. While it is important to consider your own taste and preference, you should also consult your groom on the design and style of your wedding band. You may be fussy compared to your partner, but it is still best to ask him for suggestions, just to avoid disparity and regrets in the future.
There are many kinds of gemstones to choose from. Diamonds (pink, yellow and white), sapphires (blue and pink), and pearls are among the well-loved stones. If you prefer a distinctively luxurious and elegant style, you can pick an eternity ring—a ring with diamonds or gemstones all around it would be unique and figurative.
The Gown
This is the highlight of every wedding. There are various designs and cuts that you can choose from when picking your wedding gown. You can always ask your mom or close friends for ideas and suggestions. You can also browse and order sophisticated, modern-design gowns online. However, I do not recommend that. A gown needs to be especially fitted to your body type and you can only tell if it looks great on you after you’ve tried to wear it. So even though it may be cheaper to buy online, it is suggested that you go to a local bridal shop and try out gowns for yourself. Also, you can either buy a gown or rent a gown. Even though renting a gown is a lot cheaper, some people opt to buy the gown because of its sentimental value.
The Hairstyle
As exciting as it is, preparing for your wedding is also one daunting task. So, in order to make sure that you still look gorgeous after having to attend to so many things prior to your big day, you should never forget picking your hairstyle and accessories. If you have arranged for a formal affair, you will have to have your hair done in an up-do style. On the other hand, if you have been opting for a romantic or casual event, having your hair cascading around your face would make your look just as sophisticated. Pinning accessories like little flowers on your hair completes your entire look.
The Speech
Although only optional, it would be wonderful to wrap up a wedding event with a speech from the couple. As with any other speech, you will need to be prepared and eloquent in delivering it. This is to make sure you won’t bore your guests to sleep! You wouldn’t want to stutter for words or say embarrassing things, would you?
You can start with a humorous pickup line. Then, you can express your gratitude towards everyone for their support, presence and their gifts. You can finish your piece with a toast. Keeping it short, fun, concise and spontaneous is the secret to a well-delivered speech. Give your guests a lasting impression that you are not only gorgeous—you are also well-spoken and smart.
Planning your wedding sure does take up a lot of time, effort and money. So, don’t be afraid to ask your loved ones for their suggestions. Ultimately, bear in mind that this is not only for other people to be mesmerized with; this is a special day for you and your partner to enjoy.
